Let’s talk about the tale of “Flak Magnet”
After making some minor adjustments to the bomber , the pilot and crew set out on the first mission the engines roar to life Navigation officers indicts the heading. As they set out into the skies we start making our approach on the targets when the radar officer reports enemy fighters inbound. Quick to respond to the alert the enemy fighters are marked and the gunners take aim and engage in the threat, the three gunners make short work of the first batch of fighters. Just as the last fighter falls the hydraulic system malfunctions , just we begin to make our bombing run. The On board engineer starts making the repair and the front gunner moves to get read to drop the bombs.
Lining up on the target more enemy fighters appear attempting to mark all the inbound targets. The bombs fall as the fighters start to engage we see target of opportunity ahead to capture some recon photos, just after photos are snapped an Engine catches fire , The order is given to return to base the pilot starts to climb. Loosing the engine , damage to the wing and fuel tanks the brave crew races home.
That is how I spent the first 6 mins of the game “Bomber Crew”
That crew went on for ten more missions, Advancing to the next campaign block before I took a break to write this review.
Death is a permanent thing in this title, although even when you crash the plane your crew can survive, you don’t start from scratch but it does set you back. Your paint jobs are customizible from the color to the logos
I rather enjoyed the sound track the music fits game well, The graphics and animations are in good order the plane shows damage as the enemy fires on you, Even upgrades change the appearance of the airplane. This is a challenging title and well worth the price tag.
The toughest part I had to deal with was the marking of enemy planes as well as trying to line up and deliver the bomb payload on the first run, Most of the time I had to fly over the target at least once so I could keep marking inbound fighters.
To earn enough money before you take the first critical mission you had to replay some beginner missions couple more times.
Despite the in game earnings, the way the game handles marking enemy fighters, and the general background sounds, (often to over powering) This is pretty solid title hats off to the guys over at Runner Duck
